Holmessweet Bébé Bistro: avocado

I've read that you can just mash the avocado with a fork,
but this was way too chunky for a new-to-solid-food baby!

I asked Isaac to be patient a little while longer while I puréed the avocado in the Beaba babycook.

To pass the time, he occupied himself with his feet.

It puréed well without any liquid, but it was the perfect babyfood consistency after the addition of 2 oz of breastmilk. I guess that makes this avocado super-duper baby brain food!

Isaac wasn't too thrilled at first with it, but now avocado is definitely one of his favorites.

We heat up one or two of these frozen cubes of avocado as the last part of his dinner every night, and he gets so excited when he sees it coming!

Here he is on day 3 of avocado... all smiles!
The experts say that it takes babies 12 times of trying a particular food for it to become familiar to them and not to give up on it if they seem to not like it at first! That's definitely proved true so far for us.

I wasn't quick enough with the spoon, and he went for his toes instead!

mmmm....avocado!
"That's right... I love it!"

It's gotta be that Tex-Mex DNA in his genes! No self-respecting Texan (hey! he's part Texan!) would turn down guacamole! He and I will discuss it tomorrow!
