Here's a recipe for a Honey Bun cake that I made last week and brought to Jacob's office. Some of the girls asked for the recipe, & Jacob suggested that it'd be easiest to post it here.
Great idea!
You can cut & paste it into a Word document if you want to print it.
Honey Bun Cake
1 yellow cake mix (I use Duncan Hines.)
4 eggs
8 oz sour cream
3/4 cup oil
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
2 cups powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon vanilla
6 Tablespoons milk
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Mix cake mix, eggs, sour cream, and oil. Beat for about 2 minutes. Pour half of batter into greased 9x13 pan. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle this mixture over the cake batter in the pan. Pour remaining batter on top. Swirl with a fork. Bake at 325 for 40 minutes or until done. Make a glaze with powdered sugar, vanilla, milk, and pecans. (The glaze will be thin.) Pour over hot cake.
It's a little too sweet for me; next time I make it, I'll reduce the brown sugar and the powdered sugar. But, if you like things really sweet, it may be just right for you!
If you're not serving this cake right away, it's best when re-heated for a few seconds in the microwave so that it's nice and warm. Leave me a comment if you try it... I'd love to hear how it turns out!
Here's a little video of Isaac waking up in the morning... he's so happy when he wakes up!
Well, usually.
Lately, he's been waking up from his naps crying because of his teeth. (I used to just hear him cooing when he woke up!) His first tooth has broken through the surface, but something is still bothering him, so either it's hurting as it continues to come in, or the one next to it is trying to come through the surface.
fun French phrase just for fun:
Tu veux du lait? = Do you want some milk?
P.S. It's my birthday, and I have officially exited my twenties as of today. Woah.

I just turned 33, but I feel like I just relive high school and college all over again every year. I guess youth ministry is good for me :)
