My parents came in town for Isaac's birthday, and they ordered this giant inflatable birthday cake for us to use as a decoration. It was HUGE!
Rather than a character theme, we decided to just go with the big birthday cake idea...
Mom made a giant cake that looked just like the inflatable one!
She spent hours and hours getting that cake ready...
from finding the perfect flavors,to baking multiple layers, to adding filling to each layer, to stacking the giant thing, to decorating it... it was beautiful and DELICIOUS!
Some layers were white chocolate cake with chocolate chip hazelnut mousse filling and the best fluffy buttercream icing ever and another layer was an almond flavored cake with mango filling. That was Isaac's cake flavor because mango is his all-time favorite fruit.
To say thanks, we took Mom and Dad to Sakura for their first sushi experience the Saturday evening before his party on Sunday.
