Our first planting of cool weather broccoli and cabbage did well, but after the warmer weather arrived, so did the bugs.

So, you saw the giant green bug on our tomato plants, right? Well, our tomato plants shriveled up and died soon after we spotted that little guy!

Tomatoes weren't the only veggie in our garden to suffer from bugs...
This was once a lush green vine with one pretty acorn squash growing on it.
Look how they attached our pitiful lone acorn squash!
(and I was looking forward to cooking up this one for Isaac!)

Our zucchini produced well for a while, but eventually, the bugs migrated over to our zucchini. (After they feasted on our acorn squash and cucumbers.)
However, we did have lots of bell peppers
(maybe they were too spicy for the bugs?)

and more salsa pepper than we knew what to do with!
(We were planning to make salsa with all our tomatoes... but that didn't happen since we HAD no tomatoes!)
Overall, the garden was still fun, but it was definitely disappointing losing so much of our harvest to bugs. I guess if we want an organic garden, we're going to have to do more research on fighting off bugs without pesticides!

Yucky bugs!! But I like that you guys were doing it all organic-ly. It's the way to go in my opinion being a veggie and all. :) Hope you guys are making it through all the RAIN! Hope to see you soon! Say hi to the boys for me.
