the final days of our Christmas in Texas

I don't know if I've mentioned it, but many things are cheaper in Texas.
Produce, for example, is much cheaper.
My mom told me last week that she bought avocados 4 for $1 at HEB!
WHAT?! That's just crazy talk around here.

Anyway, when I saw this sign for a spa pedicure for $20, I started my grumbling about why things are so much cheaper in Texas. My mom was quick to point out that I should look at the fine print.

"What fine print?" I asked.
"On the sign," she said.

As I squinted my eyes, I still saw nothing.
As we approached the building, I saw a blur of letters under the word "spa."

As I got closer (and I mean closer, like...under the sign, I was able to read the word "chair."

HA HA!

It was a "spa chair pedicure" for $20. Which means that you sit in a large chair, but it's just a regular pedicure.

This sign just cracked me up.

But the tacky, tricky sign wasn't enough to keep us away!!!

Mom took Haley and me to get pedicures, and we had an awesome girlie morning. She even splurged for the spa pedicure! And I mean the "real" spa pedicure, not the "spa chair" pedicure!

They put our feet in hot wax, massaged our legs with hot rocks... it was awesome! That was the first time I've ever had such treatment... what a treat!

Thanks, Mom!

We had to eat Tex-Mex while we were in Texas... of course!
The food at this restaurant was awesome...

Los Portales in Jackson doesn't even seem like Mexican food after eating at this place!

Isaac wore his "Lil' Cowboy" outfit in honor of his time in Texas.

Our boys with their Uncle Dusty.

If you saw the previous posts about our time in Texas, you saw the pictures from our second trip to Double Horn for their fantastic hamburgers.

Remember how I said my parents take Jacob there as often as he wants?

Well, here we are at trip #3 to Double Horn.

Yes, that's right... that's 3 times in a one-week visit!

Isaac and his Poppy & Mimi.

"Christian, get over here and get in this picture with your grandparents!"

Isaac met his uncle Dusty for the first time on this trip! I think it's safe to say that Isaac liked Dusty...
Dusty gave him chocolate cake when I wasn't looking!
I heard Jacob say to Dusty, "Uh-oh, oh man...your sister is gonna kill you!" When I turned to look, Isaac had a blob of chocolate icing stuck on his bottom lip!"
