We went to Young Life camp a few weeks ago as adult guests. It's outside of Jasper, Georgia, so it's a 6-hour drive. Unless you get stuck in Chattanooga for an hour during road construction. And unless you have to stop to nurse a baby. Then it takes almost 9 hours. We left at 4pm and got there after midnight.
Ready for a road trip!
We arrived at the adult guest lodge and were excited to find awesome accomodations!
(even though everyone else was asleep!)

The main room had a queen bed, sink, and a huge closet that served as Isaac's bedroom(!). This is the second room where Christian stayed -- it had two sets of bunk beds.

We woke up Saturday to a chilly morning but were finally able to appreciate the beauty of SharpTop Cove in the light of day! Christian LOVED spending a whole weekend with the Tilleros boys.

This is the playground where the boys played. My pictures don't do it justice. It was really cool how it was sort of "woven" into the woods...
like something Jacob would dream up!
A little creek runs through the playground area; this is where the boys spent most of their time!

Isaac got to wear his Young Life onesie that the Tilleros family gave him when he was born!

Saturday morning after breakfast was the cabin challenge.
If you look closely, you can see the zip line in this picture. It starts on the hill on the right and zips over the lake. It was SO cold, but you wouldn't believe how many kids did it... the line was an hour wait!
(After doing the zipline, they went straight to the hot tub!)

It was so fun seeing how Young Life camp works.

We bundled Isaac up and carried him around like this most of the day.

Here's a picture from Young Life club. When the doors open, the kids rush in to blaring music and all start singing contemporary songs, and they all know all the words! After lots of singing radio songs, it transitions into praise songs, then there's a speaker.

After club at 7:30 pm, there were skits/games at 9 ish (can't remember exactly).
Here we are heading out again:
(Notice that Christian isn't in many of these photos... he was running around with the Tilleros boys and LOVING it!)

Isaac and Emi... YL next generation!

Isaac and I were too tired for the 11:00 pm concert, but Jacob and Christian went!

(The food is really good at Young Life camp!)
Mealtimes were some of my favorite times at camp. (Of course, I love food, and I'm always hungry since I'm nursing, but there were other reasons too!)
All the kids congregate outside the building, and their signal to come in is loud music that starts blaring from inside the dining area. They rush in to find their leaders welcoming them to each meal by clapping, whooping, hollering, and dancing (even on the tables)... It was wild!
SharpTop Cove has a rock climing wall, which is one of Christian's favorite things to do.

He made it to the top!
Conquered that wall!

Our weekend at SharpTop Cove was awesome! It was so neat to see Young Life camp in action... it's amazing... what an awesome ministry that really impacts so many teens!

I am so happy that Christian got to experience YL camp and has that to look forward to as a teenager. He talked and talked about that weekend. On the way home, he said it was better than...
get this...
DISNEYWORLD!!!
