a Saturday day trip to Memphis / Mississippi

Isaac gets such a kick out of the zoo these days... just today he was asking over and over during breakfast if we could go to the zoo.  We're definitely getting our money's worth out of the family membership!

After seeing the pandas exhibit and Isaac squealing as he watched the pandas steadily chomping on bamboo, we came up on this little panda sculpture.  Isaac ran right up to the panda, plopped down beside it, and started trying to feed it sticks.

We enjoyed our zoo outing, but the real reason for the day trip to Memphis was the honey...
we really love our honey from Deaton Bee Farm in Walls, Mississippi (just outside Memphis).  We also really love the great price we get when we buy it by the gallon and get a group of people together to order since we get a discount for getting 10 or more gallons.

This is the second time we've made the trip to get honey, and this time we got 22 gallons!
(Only 3 of those were ours).

That's a lot of honey.

and since I'm sure you wonder what in the world I'll do with 3 gallons of honey...
2 gallons were for us, and the third gallon we bought as a gift.  We use honey in baking, baking granola, on top of yogurt, on top of granola, in coffee, in hot tea...  we use it a lot, and did you know that honey never goes bad!?!  It may crystallize, but you can warm it up to get rid of the crystals.
