My grandparents have retired in Branson, Missouri, and we'd been trying to plan a trip to visit them so that they could meet Isaac. They are from Louisiana, and they're the ones who used to speak French when I was little... I was always dying to know what they were saying... I love it now when they are saying something to each other in French, and I can understand it!
We were finally able to get a trip to Branson planned, and we were able to coordinate it with my parents, so we all got to be together. We left Jackson and picked up my parents at the Little Rock airport, then we stayed the night in a hotel in Little Rock.
Isaac does not do well sleeping in the same room as us -- if he sees us, he thinks it's time to play. Sometimes we can fit his playpen in the closet if the hotel has a large one, but this one didn't, so the situation called for some creativity.
It became a challenge for Jacob that was sort of like a puzzle, which he loves, so he was right in his element. It looked like he destroyed the hotel room.... he used a luggage cart, the shower curtain, and rearranged all the furniture in the room to create a little "room" for Isaac.
