visiting historic Evangeline sites with Evangeline

While in Lousiana for Stephanie's wedding (on our way to my parents' in Houston for spring break), we did a bit of sight-seeing in the land of Evangeline, taking our sweet little Evangeline to learn a little about her namesake.

Longfellow Evangeline State Historic Site
Jacob and I went here in 2006, before Isaac and Evangeline were born.  I've always loved the name Evangeline since studying Longfellow's poem (called Evangeline)in Louisiana History and French class.

More about Evangeline if you're interested...
(the literary heroine, not Evangeline Holmes)  ;)

LOVE all the pictures....I especially like the one where she is sitting on the Evangeline statue! She is the most precious and tiniest thing I've ever seen!

I love these pictures. Especially the one where she is sitting on the statue's lap.
