One Saturday in August, we headed off to the Tennessee Safari Park. Not knowing what to expect, I'll admit that I had low expectations, but it was great! It's basically a drive-thru zoo, but the animals are exotic, "safari" animals, and they're roaming all around. You pay per person to drive through, and you can also buy buckets of food to feed the animals from your car. Crazy!
We totally recommend a trip to this place in the summer months!
Papa Jack came along for the day, and we had such a fun time. Isaac was thrilled to get out of his car seat and sit in Papa Jack's lap.
Christian -- ready to see some wild animals!

Just past the pay station, this was the first guy we saw.

He looked like he'd been sitting there for months and wasn't going there. Jacob tried to entice him with the food bucket, but no luck.
Our first taker -- a spotted deer.
We all just kept giggling and laughing at how strange this concept was... drive through a park, feed animals from buckets out of your car windows! It was so funny... and fun! Here's a shot of the car behind us feeding animals on both sides!
It was a little intimidating for these wild animals to come right up to your window expecting food.
I was content to watch everyone else feed them, but Jacob insisted that I give it a shot.
Christian, however, ate it up. He was halfway hanging out the window at times and would have crowds of animals eating out of his bucket.
Isaac squeeled and loved seeing all the animals. Here he is checking out the llama.
I kept wanting to get a picture of our car surrounded by animals, but you're not supposed to get out of your car. See the sign?
So, I just took a picture of the car in front of us.
Although there were other cars there, it wasn't crowded at all, and we were able to take our time driving through the park.
We even fed an ostrich.
We got so many fun pictures of Christian -- he was having a great time!

Jacob fed animals as he was driving too.

Isaac loved it and didn't seem to be afraid at all.

This was the craziest and scariest animal we saw - an emu. They were very agressive and they seemed to pop up everywhere! Like something in Jurassic Park! This one kept showing up at my window!
